Large-scale forest fires and increased radiation levels

Is visiting Chernobyl safe?
Yes, it is. In general, in the Chernobyl Zone, high levels of radiation are observed only in certain places. Don't worry. Either you won't get to these places at all or you'll be there for a very short time. One day, when the excursion takes place, the human body will receive X-rays at a level corresponding to the approximate dose of 0.0005. Approximately the same amount of gamma radiation can be received on a plane during a three-hour flight. So there is no damage. Even during your flight to Kiev, you will receive more radiation.
